You may be a grown-up if....

So a recent purchase has made me feel rather grown-up and that got me thinking... how do you know if you have actually crossed over into healthy adulthood. It's not a bad thing, being a grown-up has its perks, and definitely the benefits far outweigh any deficits that may exist.
So without further adieu, I bring you the list of things that may mean you are a grown-up...
You may be grown up if you :

  • use phrases like "further adieu"...
  • own a waterpik and or electric toothbrush
  • know how much toilet paper you have on hand and can accurately predict when you will need more
  • no longer does your "chap-stick/lip gloss" stash consist primarily of bonnie bell or lip smackers
  • have a more refined taste and your go-to fizzy beverage is no longer "orange" or "root beer"
  •  have fresh veggies in your fridge
  • know when the last time you washed your sheets was and are planning on doing it again soon
  • have different sized towels, one for hands, one for showers
  • prefer water with your meals, not because its cheaper, but because it tastes better
  • check your watch prior to drinking caffeinated coffee to gauge if it is still early enough in the day
  • like the taste of decaff coffee for its value as a hot beverage instead of a "lesser-coffee"
  • keep your vehicle maintained
  • know how much gas you have in your tank
  • buy shoes based on how comfy they are as well as how they look
  • carry a band-aid in your purse
  • own several purses/handbags that you can co-ordinate with season/outfits
  • read books
  • have been to the library in the last year
  • have a hobby that doesn't consist of "feeling sooooo hungover" the next day
  • go for walks because its nice to be outdoors by choice
  • pay your bills on time
  • pay off your credit cards monthly
  • save up for big purchases
  • have a favourite travel mug that doesn't advertise a gas station/beer/alcohol company
  • eat at a dining room table
  • you still talk on your cell phone instead of just texting or messaging people
  • you go into the bank at times to have face to face transactions
  • know you are a grown-up and don't feel the need to apologize for it or make up for it by trying to stay "totes" trendy...
Life is good, embrace it, live it to its fullest and enjoy every step along the way... besides whoever said that being grown-up has to be boring, it just means you have finally gotten the hang of good oral hygiene and rarely run out of gas or toilet paper anymore!
